A friend brought to my knowledge the wonderful facebook purity script.
You will need:
Firefox (its my preference)
Greasemonkey
Facebook Purity Script
Instructions
1. Install Greasemonkey add-on for Firefox
2. Install Facebook Purity Script
3. Result
No more anoying quizzes and other apps but apps are getting more clever and making photos and posting them to your profile in the facebook photo app so I don't think it can be blocked (yet).
Boo! 'all my friends' and 'fanlist' apps.
