The team tactics settings have been overhauled but the sliders are still there similar to previous versions. The most obvious additions are Philosophy (ranges from Rigid to Fluid) and in-game change of stategy. These additional ways of setting up your team makes it easy for beginners but the interface also allows for fine tuning for the FM veterans.
My favourite tactic right now is a 4-4-2 diamond which plays similarly to a very fluid and creative Arsenal. If you are lazy to make your own tactic find some here.
I started off by playing with Melbourne Victory FC in the Aus A-League after winning 2 seasons, I joined Liverpool who finished 10th that season. Yeah 10th!! with Rafa Benitez WTF? I finished second in my first season but won 2 UEFA Cups and 2 EURO Super Cups.
So today I was playing United in 2013, and guess who got a red card? VIDIC hahahaha

get one holding midfielder just in front of the defense lineup and two creative midfielders in front ;)

yeah I play something like that, 4-1-2-1-2 narrow and creative, very effective
