How to hold a DSLR properly

Holding your camera with the right techniques will ensure that:
 - sharper photos
 - better results at low shutter speeds
 - you do not drop it

From what I've read and tried, in a few lines you should hold the camera in a way that is close to your body, try to find a more stable stance by leaning against fixed objects and squeeze the shutter while exhaling.
